It seems that now that people are done congratulating us on our new marriage that they are ready for the next party- the baby shower. Babies are so wonderful, cute, and cuddly. They are also a lifetime commitment that would completely alter everything in our lives. Although we are not expecting a baby right now, it is still worth considering many things. When will we start having babies? How long should we wait? How many should we have? Where will they be raised? The list goes on…

In a country where women have many opportunities, sometimes marriage is portrayed as the anti-success in the media. It seems that once you get married, your sentence as a subservient person begins (this can go for either male or female). The media is not completely lying. Depending on who you marry, anything is possible. However, I would hope that people would take the time to get to know each other and their goals before marriage to avoid ugly surprises after the wedding. If you think I’m exaggerating go ask Kim Kardashian how that worked out for her.
